Yesterday I had the pleasure of doing something surprisingly satisfying.
I deleted a pending comment.
Not because someone had a different opinion.
Not because they weren't happy.
Because it simply wasn't the kind of community we're building.
For a while, our platform tested a traditional review system. Like many websites, that opened the door to comments that often focused on tearing people down rather than helping anyone.
That's no longer the direction we're choosing.
Welcome to Love Notes.
This is our Love Note Policy.
What is a Love Note?
A Love Note is an opportunity to leave kind, respectful feedback about a positive experience you've had with a member of our community.
It's about celebrating professionalism, kindness, communication, personality, reliability, and memorable experiences—not criticizing people publicly.
There are already enough places on the internet where negativity spreads faster than positivity.
Candy Kisses doesn't need to be one of them.
Our Philosophy
We're building a community where respectful connections matter.
That doesn't mean every interaction is perfect.
It means we choose to encourage the behavior we'd like to see more of.
Positive communities don't happen by accident.
They happen because someone is willing to set the standard.
What We Won't Publish
Love Notes are moderated before they appear publicly.
Comments may be declined if they include:
Personal attacks
Name calling or insults
Body shaming
Harassment or intimidation
Pricing discussions
Explicit sexual descriptions
Attempts to damage someone's reputation
Information that puts a member's safety or privacy at risk
Anything written simply to hurt someone
Yesterday I removed one of those comments.
Honestly...
It felt good.
Not because someone's opinion was deleted.
Because one member no longer had to worry about an unnecessary public attack living on their profile.
That's exactly why this policy exists.
What We Hope to See Instead
Tell us about someone who made you feel welcome.
Tell us about someone who was professional and respectful.
Tell us about someone who communicated well.
Tell us about someone you'd happily recommend because they treated you with kindness.
Those stories help everyone.
They build trust.
They encourage great service.
And they strengthen our community.
If Your Experience Wasn't Positive
Love Notes are designed to celebrate positive experiences, but that doesn't mean we ignore the difficult ones.
If you've had a negative experience with a member of our community, we encourage you to contact us directly by email support@candykisses.online my name is Deja, I will be available.
We genuinely want to protect our client members just as much as we want to protect our professional members. Sometimes concerns are the result of misunderstandings. Sometimes they highlight an issue that genuinely needs our attention.
Rather than allowing negative situations to unfold publicly, we'd prefer the opportunity to speak with everyone involved, understand what happened, and work toward a fair and reasonable resolution whenever possible.
We believe these conversations are often more productive—and far less damaging—when they happen behind closed doors with respect for everyone involved.
Over the coming weeks, we'll also be publishing a dedicated Client Experience Policy that explains how concerns can be reported, how they're reviewed, and what members can expect from that process.
Our goal isn't to silence concerns.
Our goal is to handle them thoughtfully, fairly, and in a way that helps strengthen our community for everyone.
Building Something Better
Candy Kisses has never wanted to become the biggest collection of reviews. We are not trying to copy outdated systems or communities. We are trying to meet them where they are an inspire them to do better.
We want to become one of Canada's most welcoming communities for respectful connections.
Every policy we introduce moves us a little closer to that goal.
The new Love Notes Policy is one more step in building a platform where people feel comfortable participating, growing their businesses, and supporting one another.
Thank you to everyone helping us create that culture.
Let's continue celebrating the people who make this community special—one Love Note at a time. 💕
